Supporting aged people and those with physical and intellectual disabilities
The Day Centre will run every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 10 am and 1 pm. It will be held at the Bargo Community Hall, 96 Radnor Road Bargo.
The service offers a vast variety of activities designed, for recreation, rehabilitation, social support, skill development, education and social outings as well as providing lunch.
The program supports those suffering from dementia, Parkinson's, MS and various physical and intellectual disabilities. Participants are grouped in appropriate programs that best suit their needs.
The Day Centre serves as day respite, capacity building or community participation and is supported by NDIS, My Aged Care or can be accessed privately so discuss your personal circumstances with us so we can support you to find a program that is right for you.
As well as physical exercises that help to improve balance, posture and core, neuro gym activities serve to build skills and rehabilitate those focused on self improvement or recovering from illness or injury. Brain gym is available for stroke sufferers and those with an Acquired Brain Injury or a degenerative condition. These programs are supported by appropriately trained specialist staff.
A variety of social and recreational as well as skills building activities will entertain and amuse participants as well as offer them a supported environment where friendships, resources and supports can be met.
Weekly outings and special events and exhibitions are provided for interested parties and a hydro gym class will also take place once a week.
Transport is available and can be accessed by using your transport funding or via private arrangement. The cost will be well below the cost of any other form of transport.
Support workers will be available on hand at the appropriate ratios based on your care needs.
The service is due to commence in February and we are expecting a strong response so please register your interest early so that you are not disappointed. Once you register, you will be contacted by a staff member, who will discuss your personal needs and goals with you so that we can endeavour to meet them.
